Port 1961 previewed there spring 2010 summer collection at Bloomingdales last night among buyers, and press. Tia Cibani, creative director of Ports, Joe Zee, creative director of ELLE, and Olivia Palermo of MTV’s the City, presented the collection and described each piece as the models walked the runway. The collection had a very 1920’s art deco inspired feeling. There were lace sheath dresses, shift dress with detachable beaded collars, jersey dresses with chiffon over lay, silk satin drape top’s, brush stroke prints, skinny trousers, and a beautiful macramé trim silk charmuse evening dress. Colors were black, nude “as must have this season”, with a soft pale pallet. The must have item is the classic trench coat that was beautifully made.
The shoes were gorgeous 20’s inspired flats, low heels, with classic details that add a touch of class and elegance. Buyers and customers had the ability to hear 1st hand about the collection and meet the designers.
